Hmm. So if I'm NOT a doctor you're perfectly happy to use my medical services? Hmm again. Did you drink some more Dr. NonE? You seem to be peeing all over yourself! I give discount rates to the cats who hang out around here, by the way. But then, my name is NonE, not Curiosity, so ... no problemo, dude! (fine print: caveat emptor and caveat kitty ;D )

My error kind sir, I presumed that if you were not a doctor you would have no medical services to provide.
I stand corrected and decided to give up drinking alltogether and will not use your medical services either way based upon your diagnosis of Kitty.

"Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. ... Our principle is that the Party commands the gun, and the gun must never be allowed to command the Party." Mao Tse-tung, Chinese Communist politician (1893 - 1976) ...even the uber-collectivists speak the truth sometimes, e.g. "Politics is war without bloodshed while war is politics with bloodshed." ... see also Wikiquote . Jut found this as well: " If the U.S. monopoly capitalist groups persist in pushing their policies of aggression and war, the day is bound to come when they will be hanged by the people of the whole world. The same fate awaits the accomplices of the United States." (!) Ironically prescient, perhaps? NOTE: I'm certainly not intending to say anything positive about the man or his actions -- * 30-70 million dying by his hand* , ouch: www.gwynnedyer.net/articles/Gwynne%20Dyer%20article_%20%20Mao.txt

"Politics is the art of getting others to do the unthinkable for you." - Kenneth Branagh as SS Gen. Reinhard Heydrich from the HBO original movie "Conspiracy" An interesting discussion on "how" or even "why" these men conspired to exterminate a race... and still see themselves as human to any degree: Conspiracy (2001) - IMDb Boards www.imdb.com/title/tt0266425/board/nest/14093223Of course, the stuff I bolded above says it all -- we in the AiLL community know the sad answer -- because we see it every day in the "courts" and at "traffic stops" and everything in between DaytonaBob almost gets it... ...almost. But Bob still thinks it's not a logical result of the system itself, rather it must be the "evil rightwingers" - - - Wait, dont' give up hope! ^ BINGO.

"From a talk delivered, at the request of Congressman Ron Paul, to Republican and Democratic staff aides of the US House of Representatives (!) in Washington, DC, on December 8, 2005."
Now that is just truly bizarre. Talk about stupid. To go and whine about principles before a body of scum who have proven that they have none, and don't even have the honesty to hold the guns themselves... I'm speechless.

IMHO, of course.

"...the only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilised community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others. His own good, either physical or moral, is not sufficient warrant. He cannot rightfully be compelled to do or forbear because it will be better for him to do so, because it will make him happier, because, in the opinion of others, to do so would be wise, or even right... The only part of the conduct of anyone, for which he is amenable to society, is that which concerns others. In the part which merely concerns himself, his independence is, of right, absolute. Over himself, over his own body and mind, the individual is sovereign."
- John Stuart Mill, "On Liberty"
- - - The Wikipedia entry for "On Liberty" also says this: Bingo. PS: #2" "as long as they do not cause harm" MUST mean "do not cause harm TO OTHERS AGAINST THEIR WILL" when you consider the original quote's denouncement of organized prevention of "harm against self".

The ability to rationalize is the single most evil talent lurking alongside the virtues of the human species. No other creature on the face of the earth can rationalize - probably none other in the universe. We can rationalize killing millions of people with a single bomb in support of an economic system. We can rationalize the destruction of this gorgeous planet to wrap crap in plastic. - Gerry Spence, in "O.J. - The Last Word" Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers CollegeThe Trial Lawyers College is dedicated to training and educating lawyers and judges who are committed to the jury system and to representing and obtaining justice for individuals; the poor, the injured, the forgotten, the voiceless, the defenseless and the damned, and to protecting the rights of such people from corporate and government oppression. We do not offer training for those lawyers who represent government, corporations or large business interests. ( see also www.triallawyerscollege.com/learning/dvds.html , www.triallawyerscollege.com/programs/certificationprogram.html -- might be helpful resources, for "informational purposes only" of course )
