CNN and other media lapdogs are notorious for "running" with a story that serves the Smirk administration's obvious purposes of distracting the masses from what is REALLY going on and what REALLY matters (e.g. Bush admitting no Iraq-911 connection, judge saying NSA wiretaps are a big no-no, etc.) Therefore I offer a little good-hearted schadenfraude" at the expense of egotistical Talking Head and White House Puppet Wolf Blitzer... www.alternet.org/blogs/video/40824/** Ironic I'd see this, since a recent "Bob The Angry Flower" cartoon was brilliant and subtle satire of the "no retreat from Iraq" ill-logic: www.angryflower.com/smashi.html

from " Safe and Secure in Cyberspace - What you need to know about 'Wikis'" (news story, which mentions that Britannica isnt' much more accurate than Wikipedia) "...to be safe, use only information sites sanctioned by the government..." Of course, that same unintentionally-funny news story ALSO says this ridiculous fear-mongering propaganda: "...there is room for people to put misinformation ... we make mistakes, sometimes on purpose, maybe to advance a political cause. ... some want to quite literally rewrite history"So apparently "history" is only what is proclaimed by government "sanctioned" sources? And anyone questioning that is trying to "advance a political cause" -- yeah, like the belief that "dissent is the highest form of patriotism" ;D

Dissent is not patriotism it is FASCISM and if you disagree with public policy you are a NAZI who wants to kill people just like Hitler.

Social responsibility statementwww.samizdata.net/blog/social_responsibility.htmlGenuine 'social responsibility' means not imposing your will on others by force, such as using violence to rob someone or using interventionist laws (i.e. the threat of violence) that weaken and preempt the non-political social interactions of peaceable civil society. That is real social responsibility, not the crap held up as such by statists of both left and right. Just because this blog is 'open to the public' that does not mean it is no longer private property... We are not overly concerned about the rain forest and think in order to protect it just turn it all into private property... Homosexuals are humans so we do not believe in 'gay' rights, just human rights... We think whales are yummy... We think racism is moronic, especially when it calls itself 'race realism', but free association, and disassociation, is a right for everyone, even racist idiots... We think smart businessmen, and bloggers, should see disabled people as valued customers and cater for their needs, but no one, no matter what unfair cards fate dealt them, has the right to use the proxy violence of the state to force their needs on others... The only fair trade is free trade... We do not recycle, unless you count buying antiques and quoting Hayek and Popper... Oh, and this blog does not have wheelchair ramps for the 'intellectually challenged'. "Who Are We?" The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling. We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, libertarians, extropians, futurists, 'Porcupines', Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frederic Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe. - - - ;D Liberty + Levity! gotta Love it!

Daily Show (January 2006) - George Bush Jr. -- striving to outdo his daddy since 2001!"Iraq war, 1-termer, his VP misspelled potato" vs. "DISASTROUS Iraq war, 2+? terms, his VP shot a man in the face" Good point! "despite all this, he's still 4 more points popular than his father" ... so he's gonna have to something even MORE evil... (!) :-\ - - - Bonus video: OH THIS IS TOO FUNNY! 08May2006 Daily Show reveals the secret truth of the CIA: Porter Goss resigned/ousted as director; apparently he "led ably", which Jon Stewart and Samantha Bee ended up mocking, heartily... ;D * spit-take warning: Hope you're not drinking a beverage starting at the 4minute mark ... ;D

D.O.A.P. Death Of A President. GO. SEE. THIS. MOVIE.I saw it last night, the silence at the end of the movie as the credits rolled said it all -- people didn't immediately leave, they were actually THINKING about those final few minutes, and whether or not the speculative future presented in this fictional mocku-drama is an unavoidable destiny, or is there hope to prevent such increased tyranny... I won't say anything else, let's just say there's a lot of quoteables, and the way they present various viewpoints through the "interviewed" characters -- VERY well done.

Darren Dirt's Perpetually Posted Friday Funny... The enlightened cynicism of H.L. Mencken and Jonathan Swift courses through this movie's veins, along with the social curiosity of Alexis de Tocqueville, the scientific eye of a wildlife biologist, and a great comedian's love of the unspeakably juvenile. Which is to say I hurt myself laughing at "Borat," but I'm not sure whether it was from the jokes or from the deep clefts the movie leaves in our national psyche. - Ty Burr, Boston Globe movie critic, reviewing " Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan" ...it is good to laugh, and apparently it is even better for us to laugh at ourselves

Jamie Kennedy channels the average "judge" Marc has had to deal with ;D In a way, what Jamie does is almost like what would happen if Ali G put on the Black Robe. Speaking of which... Ali G in Legal Land! He interviews BRLHe goes to Law Schooland learns about how the police are trained related: he gets confused by asking questions about politics and voting
