I'm only familiar with what's on the web site, though from Carl's history, I'm sure it's excellent.

Little Albert - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_B._WatsonGive me a dozen healthy infants, well-formed, and my own specified world to bring them up in and I'll guarantee to take any one at random and train him to become any type of specialist I might select – doctor, lawyer, artist, merchant-chief and, yes, even beggar-man and thief, regardless of his talents, penchants, tendencies, abilities, vocations, and race of his ancestors. I am going beyond my facts and I admit it, but so have the advocates of the contrary and they have been doing it for many thousands of years. (1930)

Say Marc,
I have a request. Can you please find out what the deal is on RBN's shortwave transmissions? I was listening tonight on 12.180 MHz and really enjoying the show. I could even understand about half of what Allistair and Joe were saying. Then at the one hour mark the frequency went dead and I could not find out what frequency it had shifted to, so I was unable to listen to the rest of the show live. I'll have to catch it later on MP3. (This happened that last time I tried to listen live as well, so obviously it is a regular thing that they switch frequencies at the hour mark. For whatever strange reason there may be for doing this. I know that other shows sometimes do this as well. The weird world of SW radio.)
I assume you speak with the RBN folks and can get an answer to this and post it. I'd appreciate it and don't know if this helps others or not, but I imagine it might.

I heard the show with Joe and Alistair. I see it was 2 hours but it felt like 2 minutes. (For those who were paying attention ) Great show and how about 4 hours for the next one ? ;D I welcome more shows like this because I do feel that it is important to keep focusing on what message your audience is getting(their reality) when you want to get a message to them, as NonE pointed out at the start of the post about the Coast to Coast show. From what I know the channels are 12.180 and then 5.050. I should be announcing it more.
Glad you guys enjoyed the show with Alistair and Joe, we'll do it again.

Good show (2 September 2006 : Voluntaryist Round Table !) If that wasn`t enough for you,and you still haven`t the desire to get back to that hard labour in order to pay your taxes, you might want to give a couple of your hours to the guy who was given a name check by a caller towards the end of the 2nd hour. Michael Tsarion and his "Origins of Evil" compilation. www.taroscopes.com/webstream/ccvideos/ccvideos.htmlThe "mindset" question has,for me, the makings of an interesting future show.

hey Marc ~ Listening to the show last night, and noted the announcement (about 17 minutes in) that NSP is back down to one hour. I was disappointed and all ready to send a comment to John at RBN. Looked at the rbnlive schedule to see what other show had replaced that second hour, and saw... the re-broadcast of your 9/16 NSP. A "hmmm" escaped my lips. Marc, did you initiate this change, or did the network? If it was your choice, I won't make a fool of myself by complaining to John about it. I'll hassle you instead.

Going back to only 1 hour was because of me, not John. I'm sure they'll fill the next slot soon enough.

Marc, What am I going to do on my roadtrips without two hours of the NSP to listen to (burned onto CD's)? It sure made the tme go by quicker. Can anyone recommend any other good internet shows that follow along the lines of the NSP/AILL?

FreeTalkLive has some interesting stuff. Unfortunately these fellows are really closet statists, so that gets old and tired after a while. Like Any Rand, they believe that their vision of the government is the only proper one. :-(

FTL is good on occasion (though they do at times have a too-skeptical viewpoint of consistent anarchists (i.e. anti-miniarchists). But don't forget the 270+ (!) podcoasts of Stefan Molyneux, especially great for ideas on improving the present in practical hands-on ways to help bring forth a truly voluntary society. Also you might consider the 10 crazy "radio" shows my brother and I did might be amusing at the very least -- with me especially influenced by Marc and Lysander and Ayn and the rest of the Freedom Gang www.gaffe.org/archives/

FYI: Anyone listening to the 04Mar2006 show, when Marc mentioned a survey of political faithful whose brains went all emotional when they were shown evidence of "their leader" lying... Here is the quote/reference: (superquotes thread) thereisnostate.proboards39.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1101651829&page=21#1140279869 "...Essentially, it appears as if partisans twirl the cognitive kaleidoscope until they get the conclusions they want... Everyone... may reason to emotionally biased judgments when they have a vested interest in how to interpret 'the facts.'" - Dr. Drew Westen, announcing results of a 2006 study of fMRI brain imaging when statists were reacting to contradictions of their favorite party's prezidential candidate Speaking of manipulation of emotions -- in spite of the objective factual truth -- to stir up desired action of the sheeple: "So Goes The Nation" (trailer for new documentary) Hopefully this will be a courageous, truth-telling doc, in contrast with this probable CIA-promoting fictio-ganda, written by hollywood heavy Eric Roth: "The Good Shepherd" ("Edward Wilson, the only witness to his father's suicide and member of the Skull and Bones Society while a student at Yale, is a morally upright young man who values honor and discretion, qualities that help him to be recruited for a career in the newly founded Central Intelligence Agency...") wow, Skull & Bones is mentioned in the description (!) but they're The Good Guys, I keep forgetting...

Going back to only 1 hour was because of me, not John. I'm sure they'll fill the next slot soon enough. Drat! Who wants another "Let's get back to our CONstitutional rePUBLIC[ant]?" I guess with a growing family and all sorts of obligations, it's tough to stay interested in developing a radio show. However, I hope it remains a project for you. After all, it's the only one of its kind... and one hour was WAY never enough to ~ cover a news item, ~ do a little basic overview/review of NoState principles, ~ converse with a guest, and ~ take some calls. Sure, the delivery could be tightened up a bit. That's just a matter of organization and outlining. And maybe the Name This Blueser contest could be run monthly rather than weekly, in a lighter format with call-ins only and, let's say, readings from the 'funniest statist of the month.' Designing shows is great fun, come on! ... Anyway, HECK. I just basically want "my" two-hour show back. ;-> Let's face it, Marc... if not you, then who? [hassle, hassle... ;-D]

Thanks. If enough people want the second hour back, they can help by being sponsors. I'd like to be able to do 2 hours, especially since I have a commitment made by a vice-chair of a judiciary committee to be on as a guest, with the possibility of his legislative attorney. ;D
