A young child drowns in a water fixture(fountain) at a hotel, while her mother was napping nearby on the lawn. The mother is being charged with 1st and 2nd degree manslaughter, child neglect and child abuse. Other than the father, who has jurisdiction to act on behalf of the child, and bring charges against the women? There are currently 2 cases going on right now. The other fell into an above ground pool while the mother wasn't paying attention. Same charges. BTW. Martha Stewart is in jail right know for telling the truth. If you deny doing something that you didn't do, your telling the truth.

I know somebody this happened to. Her child somehow managed to climb up onto the deck of her pool and then fell in while the mother was busy with her other children. There was no litigation involved and was determined to be a tragic accident.
I don't know how the state decides to bring charges against a grieving family but I have an idea it might have to do with loss of future income. The child and most people are considered by the state to be wards of the state. If the child dies while in your care then you did not do your job and the company (state) litigates against you for reasons I cannot fathom.

It lends legitimacy to the "system." Plus, prisons are a huge business.

Aloha, Prison's have become a Major "Growth Industry?" in this modern world and as usual the Bush Family is right there to reap the windfall of profits to be had from the Happy Festivities! Seems Granny Bush(BarB) Is on the Board of Directers for Wacknhut Prison systems (Green Balogna Sandwichs for Everybody, Yea!) As Mel Brooks so poignantly said in the movie" History of the World, Part 1" "ITS GOOD TO BE THE KING!!!!!!"

(PS: anyone read Badnarik's book? Is it too LP-promoting or constitution-promoting, or is it actually a good, populist-level libertarianism basic overview?)

Question to anyone? From the files of the hard to believe: A relative (bROTHER-IN LAW)who is and was at the time a resident but not a citizen of the u.s.,recently tried to get a Texas drivers license,he has a Panamanian license. He was told by the Texas dmv that he had violations from 15 years ago as a student(Biggies though)no drivers license,no registration and no insurance, he was driving his brothers car(minor ones)no seat belt, and failure to yield . The scenario was the cop was behind him riding his tail, lights blaring. In his country if the officer does this you slow down which he did. Eventually the cop pulled him over angry because he didn't get out of his way,Bayonne Nj has no where for him to pull over and streets are usually congested. The judge threw out the seatbelt and yield tickets but left the meatier tickets there. He paid a good portion of the fines but went to his home country got married forgetting about the remaining portion. He returned here in 2005 to secure the american dream . I was wondering if traffic tickets are like murder with no statute of limitations on them.Have the Thugocracy eliminated the statue of limitaions entirely? How does one of the huddled masses counter this havoc wreaked by the oppressive elite crime family called "Uncle Sam". I think the term uncle comes from the crys of those whose arms he twists into submission.

The Gubmint taks a woman willing to admit on television that she cooks, cleans, and does some yard work, "the traditional suzie homemaker/Mom role and at least a good outward role model appearance" and what do they do?. . . Throw her in prison. Notice to all homemakers: Mrs. and Mr. Moms - Don't do the things you need to do to rais your family or the feds will throw you in jail!

I was wondering if traffic tickets are like murder with no statute of limitations on them. The limitation is on the time to prosecute the case. This case was already prosecuted; I don't think there is a time limit on collection. It's probably a good thing too because people would just not pay and then there would be a violent rush to collect before the time expired.
