...a modern symphonic rock band with a live choir. Inspired by operatic, experimental rock bands of the seventies such as Electric Light Orchestra that he loved as a child, DeLaughter sent the call out for a wide array of musicians and gradually built up contacts. A half-hour of music was written and rehearsed by 13 musicians that would become The Polyphonic Spree.
From their inception, The Polyphonic Spree wore white robes at their live shows, giving the image of purity, hope, and happiness...
Their unique sound and spirit is reminscient of the 60s flowerchild type of artists... another example is in the opening page of the website for the indie movie "Thumbsucker": thumbsuckermusic.com/
So full of energy and innocence and joy of life... and most of all hopefulness
PS: I first saw them in a sorta cameo on an episode of Scrubs, I didn't know who they were by name, now that I do I thought I would share.
Very different from the usual screamo and deathmetal and neopunk
