Add any and all such quotes here.
I'll start with this one:
"With great power comes great responsibility." - Spider-Man
The quotes can come from anywhere, as long as they in some way relate to the purpose and mission of this growing community.
They needn't come from comic book heroes or be intended for comic book fans.
How much power do YOU have and what is YOUR responsibility?

To all those who read BS's above comment, you have the power to say something worthwhile, as Marc did, or the responsibility to say nothing at all. Don't misuse it.

"The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State."—Dr. Joseph M. Goebbels, Hitler’s Propaganda Minister

"First of all, can you reject all authority? If you can it means that you are no longer afraid. Then what happens? When you reject something false which you have been carrying about with you for generations, when you throw off a burden of any kind, what takes place? You have more energy, haven't you? You have more capacity, more drive, greater intensity and vitality. If you do not feel this, then you have not thrown off the burden, you have not discarded the dead weight of authority." J. Krishnamurti, Freedom from the Known, Chapter one.

"Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against - then you'll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We're after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now, that's the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with." ~Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

I always liked this one.
"Those who would trade their freedom for protection will get neither and deserve neither."
I think it was Ben Franklin but I'm not sure.

I always liked this one. "Those who would trade their freedom for protection will get neither and deserve neither." I think it was Ben Franklin but I'm not sure. Those who would trade essential liberty for temporary security deserve neither liberty nor security One of my fav's as well and yes it was Ben Franklin

To Quote KT . . . My problem is that I am ignorant of the fact that I am ignorant until someone asks me a question that reveals it. You only know what you know when you know it!
