If agape is a state of consciousness, as Marc once said, then that might be the best state.
I believe I've heard KT opine that maybe altruism is the best state.
I have opined that perhaps autonomy is the best state.

A perpetual state of Grace works for me just fine.

A perpetual state of Grace works for me just fine. This is good. Maybe this leads to a state of bliss?

The best state for me would be the state in which I can freely choose which state I may exist in at any given moment. i.e. Today at this moment I am in a state of mild happiness. This afternoon it may be a state of full happiness or sadness depending upon what events transpire.

Here`s what someone (he`s no longer on this earth) once imagined :
"Imagine there's no heaven, It's easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky, Imagine all the people living for today...
Imagine there's no countries, It isnt hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, No religion too, Imagine all the people living life in peace...
Imagine no possesions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man, Imagine all the people Sharing all the world...
You may say Im a dreamer, but Im not the only one, I hope some day you'll join us, And the world will live as one."
Worthy of (some) consideration or,as Eric Cartman would say "A bunch of tree-hugging hippy crap" ?

Sorry Mark
I was not trying to get religious in my last post on this subject even though it did go somewhat that direction. I guess my real belief is most people who believe in freedon tend only to believe in freedom for themselves or from their point of view and not that of others.
It's the reason most freedom movements become unfocused or collapse from within. The Free State, in my opinion, would be very difficult to organize because each of the religious factions have a different view of what freedom is to them, the various point organized groups (gay rights, pro-abortionists, etc.) would clash with the religious and counter-point groups.
True freedom comes when we can let people be who they are as long as they don't injure or push their beliefs on others. My last post was from the Christian view point and I was trying to show intolerance will always disrupt the pursuit of freedom.
I think if you came to know me, you'd understand I am the least religious person you have ever met. Most religions, in my opinion, do not follow the edicts of their religious documents, but use them to condemn others for their behaviour.
So a free state would be a difficult venture at best unless you got a community of like-minded, tolerant people.

I don't think Marc is prohibiting religion, but just asking us to show some -- dare I use the term? -- TOLERANCE!!!
As we say in AA, "Live and let live."

I mean, look at my last post on the "Favorite Freedom Stuff" thread. Wouldn't we do best to just ENCOURAGE each other to be TRUE to one's faith (or un-faith), whatever that is - to be the best[/i] Mormon/Methodist/Jew/Moslem/Buddhist/whatever you can[/i] be? Isn't that what we'd NEED TO do in a lawless context anyway?

Please see the modified first item / message to this thread where I clarify I don't mean anything other than geopolitical states.

most of us knew he was referring to the Free State Project by the name of the topic  but as soon as one punster gets in the game everybody has to do a fancy jumpshot... Seriously, thanks for the clarification, Neo - especially confusing now for a newbie to the topic who didn't see the smaller original post. Hey BTW re. the FSP, is any Canadian province under consideration?
