(which I have read, unlike this one) [fwiw: imo, too bad Saussy, an otherwise insightful thinker, is captivated by another 'perpetual' aspect of superstition play: Revelation Religion~] no doubt in my mind, that the IsraeLIE/Palestinian 'play' is pure manipulation of core human superstition, it indeed is a classic metaphor of the 'world (human) problem'; I tie in a quote along this line: yupp~ got those souviner t-shirts!  eye2i fwiw: imo, too bad Lewis too, an otherwise insightful thinker, was captivated in his later life by another 'perpetual' aspect of superstition play~ |

YUP. Futile. Thorin offers strawman attacks and "totally missed the point" responses, and I offer him a dozen intelligent, analytical works done by others. computing-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/FlamebaitA subject posted to an Internet newsgroup that is designed to produce an emotional reaction and start a flame war. *cough* "those who question official versions of events and point to actual experts in the fields in question are trying to 'start a flame war'" -- not much different than simply saying "those who question the actions of government are unpatriotic/treasonous/insane"  Before any reasoned response to what I offered, before any actual discussion or civil debate can take place, the thread is locked. Big shock. Ah well, it coulda just as easily been deleted -- maybe it staying there, LOCKED, is A Good Thing?  - - - Sadly, Mr. Analog is one of my dearest friend, a brilliant software developer, and full of the most arcane and hilarious pop culture knowledge (plus he can do almost every voice from The Simpsons, and Futurama, AND Family Guy!) But out of fear of a "flame war" he slams shut the door of dialogue. It's funny/sad; I just did a quick search and he had previously locked one of my "controversial" threads due to it being "flamebait" (calling "some of [my] posts rather trollish" -- ouch!): Democracy -- how would you change the government? ("You say you believe in democracy. Good. I want to ask you a certain question: "If you had the power, how would you change the government?...") ...the "Democracy" thread got kinda outta hand, I admit, but this 9/11 thread I thought had some hope in turning into ACTUAL debate and examination of the evidence and various theories... Foolish ol' optimistic me  |

It seems like my posting said something about believing in debate and open discussion free from assumptions and "sacred cow" censorship, to help get the truth to come out of that (not exactly Bill O'Reilly-esque attacking the one holding an opposing view is it?) Seriously, dude, you coulda/shoulda given at least a semblance of a chance to an intelligent debate/discussion with both sides having an opportunity to present points and accept challenges to those points. That's something the government officials seem refuse to do for even the most basic questions, even when posed by families of 9/11 victims). And YAY he responded with the following the next day...) - - - In short, my 2 friends seem to believe that the Truth would never result from open discussion on this controversial issue... and in fact Melbosa went even further by saying he doesn't want to give the REST of our little geek clique the benefit of the doubt in being able to use reason and civility in researching/analyzing/debating same. :-\ |

I listened to an interesting show a bit ago... James Fetzer. Hour 1Hour 2A caller comes in on the second hour and says that he worked in a position in the late 80s where he was aware of the EPA declaring that the Twin Towers had to be taken down because of the asbestos exposure, and that they hired a demolition company to develop a plan to do the job. So apparently all of the logistics required to "pull" the buildings was developed a long time ago by the best minds in the demolition business. How that all connects with what happened ... who knows, but that does explain that there WAS a well developed set of plans at the very least. These are two interesting hours of interviews... - NonE |

Asbestos is a crock.
If I had my choice of breathing asbestos dust or fiberglass particles I'd take asbestos. It is a naturally occurring substance that is made from certain types of rocks. i.e. It can't be patented.
If I got it into my lungs there might be a chance of coughing the dust out. Those little fiberglass particles floating in the air when you're putting new insulation in . . . They will get in there and puncture air sacs etc and don't come out. Kind of like having hundreds of little thorns in there.
If anyone has the chance some time look at a professional insulation installer. Those guys working with the "Patented" fiberglass insulation look like astronauts. You never see images of that associated with the fiberglass insulation, all you see is images of guys looking like that when they're doing "Asbestos Abatement"; yet the fiberglass is just as dangerous.
I had a friend. That's right had, who worked in a place where they worked with this modern fiberglass insulation. Exposure to that stuff will kill you much faster than possible cancer from asbestos. He never made it to 40.
If you didn't get the point here it is. This is kind of like R-12 Freon. The patent is expiring whoops the big chemical companies that own an license it have a bunch of money to give to congress and the EPA. All of the sudden R-12 is bad for the environment, and banned except for certain uses to maintain preexisting systems. Well whudduhyano vern, there is this brand spanking new stuff that (with minor modifications) can be used . . . it's called R-134a and by golly the patent is brand spanking new with another 30 years of profits that can come from licensing etc.
