Two more, both by Bruce L. Benson:

"To Serve & Protect;" (sorry, I don't know how to create hyperlinks, otherwise I would for these two; but you can find descriptions of them at amazon.com)
The first book is a generalized overview of justice; as some on this board may know, the current authoritarian, statist, violence-based "system" is relatively recent in history being, depending on what part of the world you're in, only about 100-200 years old.
The second book is narrower in scope & focuses on protection services.
