It is my understanding that there are two types of contempt that you can be charged with when in court. That being the case, when the judge says he is going to hold you in contempt, you should ask him if that is criminal or civil? If he answers that you should then tell him to state the facts into the record that lead him to that conclusion. You could also ask when the hearing will be held on that charge and let him know you are entitled to defend on that charge at that time, or is it his intention to pass judgement at this time without a trial on those charges? Does that equate to a fair trial to be convicted of contempt without an opertunity to defend?

I think it depends on the lawyer with the robe on.
I have been held in contempt. I asked if contempt was bringing down the dignity of the court. The judge said yes. I said how is that possible for me to do? How can I bring down dignity where none exists? Start offering your services on a voluntary basis and maybe there will be some dignity to bring down. ;D
By the way, he dropped the contempt charge.

What ever you can do to make them eat their own crap that they are trying to feed you is the point here. If he says criminal you could ask who the injured party is and if he says civil your answer is a good one. Like you say in your book, feed it back to them.

Interesting, among the hundreds I have looked up on dictionary.com (esp. in the MWLAW database) I overlooked that word dictionary.reference.com/search?db=mwlaw&q=contempt * compare to non-law common-sense meaning dictionary.reference.com/search?q=contempt- - - *Yikes, this is totally subjective leaving plenty of room for malicious corrupted interpretation: Based on the bolded words above, the moment a "patriot" says "you do not have jurisdiction over me, a free man..." then it's pretty clear the BRL could "find" him in contempt
