Good post sagas. I believe in meeting the lawyer at his map of the world. You can then ask questions to establish most of what he believes has no basis in reality. One example is the presumption of innocence. Jurisdiction is an element of the crime. If presumed innocent doesn't that include jurisdiction? If presumed innocent, then how can I be held to answer the complaint? This is pretty easy: Should a service or product be provided on a violent/compulsory basis? What is government, isn't it just men and women providing a service? There is much less resistance, especially when I mention the service is not the problem, the manner in which it is provided is the problem. Also, keep in mind that lawyers KNOW there is no duty to protect anyone. They go through that in law school. Just connect the dots and show without the duty to protect there are no citizens, no citizens = no state etc. ;D

No state = no "state" attorneys (i.e., "bar member" lawyers, by definition).
Oh what a tangled web we weave when to a lawyer we fail to cleave.

I like the weird, feeling I get in my head whin I realize I have 2 conflicting points of view. You never know when you might just have a revolution in thought that brings about an epiphany of reality. Neo, you might want to save that quote for your book. Man, sagas, that's a gem

I was quoting some "judge" who wrote that in her minute entry in some "case" then got hit with a "sanction" from a "higher court judge" for it. Marc knows the names and case. I don't recall that part. Did I say I was writing a book?

My 'troubles' with the legal system all began back on January 11, 1994 when I was arrested for failure to get a $14 building permit in Hillsdale County, Michigan. I did not hire a lawyer (didn't represent myself either 'cause I am myself!), and after 'picking the jury' and opening statements the judge called for a short recess. The prostituting attorney asked if he could speak with me, he said that after hearing my opening statement that it sounded like I had a good case and just might win. He then offered to drop all of the charges (yes he had piled on more charges) if I would just pay the $14 fee for the building permit. I of course said that I had principles (after all they building inspector said that I didn't need that $14 permit)and would not pay the $14. I was found guilty by the 'jury' and Judge Sanderson fined me $200, ordered me to get into compliance with the building code and told me to see the clerk about signing a probation order. I told Judge Sanderson to his face while he sat on the bench that I would not pay the $200, that I would not get into complaince with the building code and when the clerk asked me to sign the probation order I told her that I would have to read it first. One of the 'terms and conditions' of that probation order stated that I could not leave the State of Michigan without the permission of the court, I told the clerk that I was 46 years old and I would leave the State any damn time that I felt like it without asking permission. I then tossed the probation order back across the counter and refused to sign it. The clerk said, "but Mr. Johnson we need you to sign it." When I was arrested in September of 1994 for no registration, no tags, no driver's license, no insurance, fingerprint refusal and finally the 'big one' (felony) for resisting and obstructing a police officer the charge of 'probation violation' was added. At a hearing on the probation violation charge I of course informed Judge Sanderson that I never signed any probation order and therefore couldn't be held liable for violating any terms or conditions that I never agreed to. He tried to swear me in, but I told Judge Sanderson that I was a mere falliable Human Being and could only tell the truth as such. He then stated that he heard that I had torn the 15' X 20' barn down, I said, "that is correct." He said, "are you then saying that you're in compliance with the building code?" I said, "Absolutely not! I've got building all over the property that are not in compliance with the building code!" Judge Sanderson then responded, "For the purposes of what we're doing here today, we're going to say that you are in compliance, PROBATION TERMINATED!" Orwellian double-speak at its finest! ;D I was told that Hillsdale County spent something like $10,000 in their attempt to prosecute me on that $14 building permit violation, somehow I don't think it was too cost effective! ROTFLMAO

The problem is that all of us tend to stick with what we know because it gives us a sense of security in our thoughts and the world around us. I agree. Excellent post all around but this part stuck out the most.

Neo, I don't know how to repost it over on the success stories thread (not really sure where that's even at). If you want to you can copy my whole Unsung Ballad of Suijurisfreeman off my site and post it on there. suijurisfreeman.toddmontanye.com
