Answering this question may help him know where to focus, to reach out to others, and or help all of us to know the backgrounds of similarly situated individuals.
I first heard about him by attending a seminar he was speaking at well before his book, AILL.
Your turn.

It was through a friend of a friend of sorts. Without naming names, a good friend of mine who introduced me to libertarianism, (I was fed up with the republican party), was helping me with my son for spring break. DURING THAT WEEK MY GOOD FRIEND shared with me his knowledge of Mr. Stevens'.
Sorry about the all caps, my cat walked acrossed my keyboard.

Someone mentioned his book and website so I went by to check it out. I was reading the stuff about there not being a Christian Nation and no state and thought to myself "This guy is pretty radical, wonder what he's on about?" Read some exerpts and the thing on Howard Stern and agreed with it.
The book looked really interesting so I bought it.

Heard him on the radio in early 2003, "Declare your independence with Ernest Hancock". Listened to the show on the web thanks to a friend from Phoenix...I miss Ernie's show!!

On another forum I frequent on Yahoo: Someone asked if anyone knew of a guy named Marc Stevens who wrote a book Adventures In Legal Land and if it was worth the read.
A few weeks went by and no one responded. Being that I am as curious as George, did a search on the book title in google. When I found the site, and the links to material I was already familiar with such as S-p-o-o-n-e-r this book moved to the top of my read list. "Don't pass go, don't collect $200.00". Just Had To Read It! Esp. after listening to the Ernie H-a-n-c-o-c-k show.
Finally someone else in the world that not only thinks the state is a fiction but know it and can prove it. I'm not crazy afterall.

Heard him on the radio in early 2003, "Declare your independence with Ernest Hanthingy". Listened to the show on the web thanks to a friend from Phoenix...I miss Ernie's show!! Ditto - I was listening to one of Ernie's programs ( i.e. "Declare Your Independence" with Ernest Hancoc-k www.ernesthancoc-k.com/archive/index.cgi?TopTenList - Jeepers, I *still* haven't listened to the Claire Wolfe interview, for shame, for shame...) Ernie was talking to another freedom-oriented guest, and after that - being a little bored I guess - I clicked the "Top 10" page and there it was. I may have "added/deleted/distorted" reality in my aging memory, but I think the link to the interview with Marc was glowing and had fancy music playing when my eyeballs focused on it, so I took that as divine guidance to listen to it. Haven't had a challenge-free day since. Ah well sleep is over-rated

I received a mail recommending the book from someone who hasn't read it, not even yet. I did nothing about it until I was cleaning my mailbox and followed the link. I went to the site and bought two copies -- one for a friend. Now we both go in there hammer and tongs to give the fluffed up seat polishers something to get excited about in their otherwise dull, dead dreary and lifeless number crunching world. tru

WOW. I think there was a thread that was asking, basically, "your favorite Marc interview". If I ever answered it (can't find it, maybe I am confused and it actually was this thread?) then I hereby change my answer to... Frankly Speaking with Frank Whalen Sept. 29, 2004 - just listened to this 3 hours of awesomeness! ;D Link is on main page. Even mentioned some "new" stuff that I think I hadn't heard Marc discuss before (don't ask me what though; my memory is foggy now). [glow=red,2,300]Fantastic info, the time just zipped by![/glow]

I was reading on a "patriot" Yahoo Group and someone casually recommend a listen to Marc and put a link to the Ernest H. show. Totally opened my eyes and helped me graduate from "patriot" to "rational thinker".

Listening to a squeally Short Wave Radio "John Stadtmiller's National Intel Report" carried by WWCR International raidio. What a breath of Fresh Air! Marc was on Target (as usaul) and he put forth Ideas that brought the light of truth to a decidedly Sinster system! This was Oct 04. Now whenever I hear some bureaucrat or attny. spew some inane legal opinion/gibberish I am no longer buying the lie!!! Thank You Marc ;D
